Here we go again!

Its less than four months to the Kentucky Derby. And, as the young season's two feature meetings at Gulfstream and Santa Anita get under way, punters are on the look out (once again) for a diamond in the rough: a bone-fide Derby-horse.

The only trouble is that existing futures betting that is sanctioned by the NTRA is redundant, because a smart observer cannot really capitalize on his own gut feelings and steal the best price on a horse that he fancies.....having to wait until one of the ridiculously naiive 'Future Bet' rounds comes along. Then anyone else who is watching can jump on his coat-tails.

Suffice to say, those in charge still don't understand betting and what their customers are looking for. So perhaps the latter fraternity should seek solace and much better value by opening off-shore accounts, where they can call the shots and put their money where their mouths are.....not straight into the undeserving coffers of orgainizations that continue to offer poor value and bad service.

Of note.....AZERI has shown up 'chez Lukas'...now fancy that!

Now we haven't checked out this supposed bowed tendon, but this madam is certainly about to be put through her paces by her new handler and any tendon problems (if they are still there) will soon be exposed under the fierce Lukas regime. So expect plenty of U-turns on the way to the training track; and seeing her actually race again would seem to be a very unlikely proposition.

In the meantime Frau Stronach....Belinda by name, has announced that she is going to enter the race to be selected leader of the NEW Conservative party in Canada.

Now this is rather strange, considering her father, Frank, once ran for the opposition Liberals. But then power is power, and its all about control....as anyone watching horseracing in North America can see these days....as the NTRA cringe at MEC's every move

First it was Arnold in California. Now Belinda in Canada. And everyone already knows about crazy George. So batten down the hatches....for the Fourth Reich may be just around the corner!
